LUEUR Spring to Co-Locate with JA New York and MJSA Expo
NEW YORK – The consumer antique jewelry and watch event, LUEUR Spring, has just announced that it will run concurrently with the JA New York Show and the MJSA Expo trade events at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, March 13-15, 2016. The three co-located events will create a vibrant Jewelry Market Week in New York City, internationally known as the Jewelry Capital of the World.
“Producing the LUEUR Spring event simultaneously with JA New York and MJSA Expo fulfills a need in the marketplace for access to stunning antique jewelry collections by both consumers and retailers,” says Dan Darby, Emerald Expositions vice president and U.S. Antique Shows general manager. “Our mission is to produce timely and unique events that create an energetic vibe about antique pieces, as well as offer our dealers opportunities to broaden their reach in attracting a larger audience.”
LUEUR Spring will offer more than 100 elite dealers of antique jewelry and timepieces, spanning all eras of jewelry history, in a marketplace open to members of the public as well as trade buyers. Buyers can explore showcases featuring pieces by famous names such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co., Rolex, Patek Philippe, and many others.
“The addition of LUEUR Spring to our show and the MJSA Expo can only be seen as a benefit to our entire community,” explained Drew Lawsky, group show director for JA New York Shows. “New York is the capital of our industry, and JA New York has been serving this industry and nurturing the businesses of manufacturers and designers for over 100 years. The addition of this venerable antique and estate jewelry event will create an environment that distinguishes our city as the destination market week for all retailers looking for the best in contemporary and estate jewelry, as well as retailers and designers interested in jewelry manufacturing resources.”
JA New York showcases approximately 500 purveyors of fine jewelry in a wide variety of price points that includes jewelry brands, designers and suppliers representing the full spectrum of market categories and product choices.
“We view the addition of LUEUR Spring to JA New York and MJSA Expo as a win for both buyers and exhibitors,” says MJSA President/CEO David W. Cochran. “JA New York’s emphasis on fine finished jewelry and LUEUR’s on fine antique jewelry are the perfect complements to MJSA’s unique focus on supplies to the trade. Retailers who not only carry contemporary and estate jewelry but also have manufacturing, design, and repair capabilities have even more reason to make these shows a destination.”
MJSA Expo’s exhibitors provide the finest tools, equipment and services for jewelry making and design to the trade. As a courtesy to those with JA New York and/or MJSA issued badges, the fee to attend LUEUR Spring will be waved. Consumer ticket prices are $20.
The long-awaited expansion of the 7 subway line to the 34th Street Hudson Yards station, located directly across the street from the Javits Center, will ensure easy and convenient access for attendees traveling to the show from within the NY metropolitan area.
